This section gives a general description and guide lines with how to set match timetables, standards and draws lists to meet the requirements of the desired league(s).

4.1
Set Timetables

One timetable file is used by a program, this file is dependant on the particular program to be used and is shown on the particular row of the download page. A timetable file holds eight timetables. The timetable is selected automatically is dependant on the Comptition name selected.

Where only one match occurs at a venue and the league is national BAL or UKWAL timetable 1 will always be selected. For NJL a timetalble beteen 1 and 4 will selected dependant on the division level selected. For all other leagues and divisions (area and sub-area) the third timetable will be selected. For double matches the fourth and fifth timetables will be selected.

For cup comptetions the timetable selected is shown in the table below.

Final Semi final Quarter final 3rd round 2nd round 1st round
Timetable 1 2 3 4 5 6

If no timetable is used the program will prompt you to confirm that events are actually taking place. Using the correct timetable helps the general smooth running of the program and meeting.

Minor timetable variations, such as one or two event time changes to due to the venue or event not occurring, should be made to the working copy of the timetable after selecting the Competion Name. This leaves the original master timetables unchanged and immediately available for subsequent matches.

Major variations to the normal timetable(s) should be stored in unused timetables and selected manually as the working timetable when needed. Any minor variations to this/these timetables should also be made to the working copy after their selection.

All timetables are displayed and operate using the 12 hour clock. If an event does not occur the event time should be set to 9.00 a.m. This time is assumed to be non existent and disables all automated prompts for that event.

If the timetable file can not be found when the selection is made a message will be displayed indicating that the meeting timetable must be set manually for all events if any event related prompters are to be used.

All timetables can be accessed by chosing UTILITIES, Timetables.

4.2
Set Standards

One standards file is used by a program, this file is dependant on the particular program to be used and is shown on the particular row of the download page. A standards file holds six standards lists. These are primarily intended to produce a summary of performances that meet the pre-determined standards.

Standards list printouts are typically initiated by the user request at the end of a meeting. When a list is requested performances from the current match are compared with the chosen list. Any performances that are equal or better to those on the list are printed with the match result. The list removes the need to look up each event standard manually and compare it against each event result.

All standard list printouts are in the AW compact style. AW specific options are available and should be used in preference to these standards. The summary can also be used to check against club, league / division / A.A.A. standards or records.

All Standards can be accessed by chosing UTILITIES, Standards To Meet.

4.3
Set Draws

Event draws are held in a draw order file. Each draw file holds seven full match draws. For a single match only draw file 1 is used, for a double match draw file 2 is used. Draw order files are shown on the particular row of the download page.

The use of draws is optional. Draws are normally only set and used for high profile matches such as finals and can be ignored for a typical league match.

During setup when the round number is chosen, the corresponding draw for that round will be selected automatically as shown below.

League Round Cup Round Selected Draw
1 Final 1
2 Semi Final 2
3 Quarter Final 3
4 3rd 4
5 2nd 5
6 1st 6
Promotion 7

If the draw order file can not be found a message will be displayed. This means the List Prompter, if used, will automatically produce a list of competitors for all events instead of lane draws, throwing orders, etc. This may be important if an announcer is present.

All draws can be accessed by chosing UTILITIES, Draw Orders.

Registration Support

For senior leagues that operate registration checking a feature exists to match commonly used names that the team manager might use but would not be that used to register the athlete.

E.G. Chris instead of Christopher or Christine.

These names assist in the classification of suggested probable and possible matches against the actual registration list..
