The ENTER RESULTS group allows entry of all event results. Other results such as previous round results, athlete of the match and match comments are available by selecting this group. All entries are made in edit fields after appropriate menu selection.

The only recommendation with regard to entering results or information in this group is that any previous round results should be set/checked before any event results are entered. This is to ensure the cumulative match positions and points are correct before the first event and therefore correct at the end of the match.

8.2.8
Previous Round

This item will not be available for knockout programs, promotion matches or first round matches of 4-8 team division. The item allows event and league points to be recorded for all the teams in all rounds in a division points file. These points are then added, at the end of match, to the current points totals to give cumulative points and league standings. Additions or subtractions of points for officials etc. at previous round(s) should also be included.

If cumulative league points/positions are required previous round points should be set before the first event result of the current match is entered. This allows the points and standings to be viewed, in the Display group, before the match starts and ensures the cumulative points and positions will be available to be printed or displayed at the end of the match.

Entering points for previous rounds follows two methods, one method for divisions of between 4 and 8 teams and another method for 9, 16 and 25 team divisions. In both cases the following applies:

1) The club abbreviations used in the current match should be the same as previous round(s). This is because the program attempts to match on the abbreviation rather than team name which may have been entered differently at each round or team number which may also be different at each round. Any abbreviation left blank means that team number/letter will not have its points included.
2) Clubs names and abbreviation should be entered against the team numbers or letter shown.
3) All points fields must be completed using 0's if necessary for the points to be saved.

When the Previous Round item is allowed the program will search for match files related to the current match teams and asks if the division points file should be automatically load any points found.

The suggested answer will be displayed however, this may not truly represent all points from all previous rounds but can save time when entering previous round points.

+-------------- QUESTION ---------------+ ¦ ¦ ¦ Use any/all existing match results? Y ¦ ¦ ¦ +------------- Y-Yes N-No --------------+
Answering yes will search for previous round match files and if found will always replace any points in the division points file. Where points information is missing the points for that round will be set to 0 and have to be set by selecting the relevant round(s) and team(s). Answering no means all points will initially show 0 and all teams for all rounds must have previous round points entered manually. After this automatic, or not, selection a menu showing previous rounds will be displayed.
